11^th Convocation

AUST holds 11th Convocation

Honorable Education Minister, Dr. Dipu Moni delivering speech

Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) organized its 11^th Convocation on Monday, July 24, 2023at 3:00 P.M. The ceremony was held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), Dhaka.The convocation began with recitation from the Holy Quran. Dr. Dipu Moni, Honorable Minister of Education, presided over the ceremony on behalf of the Chancellor of AUST and Honorable President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. She conferred graduate and post-graduate degrees to 2,238 students in different disciplines. In recognition of exceptional academic achievement, the Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah Padak is awarded to one student each semester. Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah Padak was given to Naim Hassan (Spring-2017), Md. Shaikh Abrar Kabir (Fall-2017) and G. M. Shahariar (Spring-2018) for securing the highest CGPAs.

Honorable Education Minister, Dr. Dipu Moni congratulated the new graduates as well as their families. Addressing the young graduates, she said, "I am optimistic that the youngsters who are graduating today will make an effort to fulfill their obligations to their families, society, country, and the world at large in addition to establishing their own lives. I also hope that they will be motivated to become entrepreneurs instead of just jobseekers and they will remember that national prosperity lies in the power of youth." Dr. Dipu Moni concluded her speech by giving her blessings to the graduates for their future success.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Fazli Ilahi, Vice-Chancellor, AUST delivering speech

Vice-Chancellor of AUST Prof. Dr. Muhammad Fazli Ilahi praised all graduates for their academic accomplishments. “The goal of this university has been to develop graduates who can handle the domestic and international issues.AUST engineers are in high demand in the domestic and international development industries as a result of this university's efforts to work as a center of excellence”, Professor Ilahi said. He hoped that graduates will dedicate themselves for all-out improvements for our country and humanity.

Professor Dr. Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Chairman, Bangladesh Accreditation council delivering speech

Professor Dr. Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Chairman, Bangladesh Accreditation council, graced the occasion as Convocation Speaker.He congratulated the young fresh graduates along with their teachers and parents. He said, “I would like to remind all the graduates that today is not actually the end of their learning. Rather they are now formally stepping into practical life where a new lesson may be awaiting each day. I expect that the graduates of AUST would overcome every challenge of life through honesty, tolerance, perseverance, and kindness, and take part in building our country as a developed nation.”

Professor Dr. Muhammad Alamgir, Member, University Grants Commission, Bangladesh attended the event as the chief guest.He extended best wishes to the graduating students and applauded the university authorities for their ongoing efforts to raise the standard of education.He said in his remarks to the graduates that “AUST has been striving hard since its inception for quality education in Engineering, Business and Architecture. Graduates of AUST have been successfully contributing towards the development of the country and they are setting their feet at global stages as well.”

Mr. Kazi Rafiqul Alam, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, expressed his greetings to the graduates and said, "It is my firm belief that those who have completed the preparatory phase of life and started their journey to the wider world today in the 11th convocation festival will make a significant contribution to the overall prosperity of the country and the nation." The Honorable Chairman of BoT also mentioned the contribution of the respected teachers who are tirelessly performing their duties with utmost sincerity and dedication in preparing the future leaders of the country.

Professor Dr. Mohammad Hamidur RahmanKhan, the Registrar in charge of AUST, delivered the Vote of thanks. In addition to congratulating the graduates on their success, he also expressed gratitude to the university's offices and the convocation committees for their great contributions to the success of this convocation.After the ceremony, graduates and invited guests attended the dinner arranged by the university authority on university premises.
