4. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & APPLICATION PROCESS FOR ENGLISH MEDIUM CANDIDATES

 
 

The candidates who have passed GCE O & A-level or equivalent examinations, called GCE candidates, are required to collect the prescribed Application Forms on payment of Tk. 500/- (Taka five hundred) only from the Office of the Registrar, AUST on any day from 25 July 2017 between 10.00 am and 3.30 pm (except Friday and Saturday) and submit the filled in Application Forms within 13 August 2017 by 3:30 pm.  Submission of Application through post/courier will not be entertained.

Minimum Qualification for Application:

FACULTY

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPLICATION

Faculty of Architecture & Planning and Faculty of Engineering

GCE O-level or its equivalent (with at least five subjects including Math, Physics, Chemistry and English) and GCE A-level or its equivalent in Math, Physics, Chemistry with minimum equivalent GPA of 3.5. Sum of equivalent GPA of GCE O & A-level should be minimum 8.0.

No E grade and at most one D grade at each of O & A levels will be allowed.

Faculty of Business and Social Sciences

GCE O-level or its equivalent in at least five subjects and GCE A-level or its equivalent in three subjects with minimum equivalent GPA of 2.5 in both O & A level. Sum of equivalent GPA of GCE O & A-level should be minimum 6.0.

No E grade and at most one D grade at each of O & A levels will be allowed.

 

Documents to be submitted: The following documents are to be submitted along with the filled in Application Form within 13 August 2017 by 3:30 pm:

   
a) Attested copies of the Certificate and Grade Sheet of SSC or equivalent, including GCE O level issued by appropriate board or authority like Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel etc
b)

Attested copies of the Certificate and Grade Sheet/Academic Transcript of examination equivalent to HSC, including GCE A level issued by appropriate board or authority like Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel etc. (If official certificate is not available, transcript or certifying document provided by British Council indicating the grade obtained in Advanced Level subjects).

c) Two copies of attested passport size recent color photographs

Note that the following documents will not be considered:
   

i)

Documents and transcripts from school and website

ii)

Statement of result for GCE O level

iii)

General Certificate of Education statement of result for Advanced Subsidiary Level (As Level).
 

Grade/Marks Conversion: According to the decision of AUST Equivalence Committee, following is the grade conversion for the GCE O & A level grade: A/A* = 5, B = 4, C = 3, D = 2.

 
** Note that no E and at most one D at each of O & A levels will be allowed
